Christina Naranjo (1891 - 1980) - Santa Clara. Christina Naranjo was a sister of Margaret Tafoya, Camilio Tafoya & the mother of noted potters Mary Cain, Teresita Naranjo & Mida Tafoya. Christina was known for her deeply carved, traditional style of pottery which emphasized very classic designs. This large jar is a wonderful shape and is in excellent condition. There are three small glaze bubbles in one area that each measure less than one eighth of an inch that occurred during the firing process, and a few very tiny pin head size wear flakes on the neck. We have provided a picture of this area for your review. Measures 8 and one quarter inches high, 9 and one quarter inches in diam with a 4 and five eighths inch opening at the top.
